Theme Installation. If you purchased from the Shopify Theme Store. When you complete your theme purchase at the Shopify Theme Store, the theme is generally installed for you automatically.  You can navigate to the Themes section of your Shopify dashboard to verify this.  If Show. Time is not listed as the active theme, scroll down and see if it's inactive.  If so, you can activate it and continue. If you purchased directly from us and already have a Shopify store setup.

If you purchased the theme directly from our site and already have a store setup on Shopify, simply login to your admin area and click Themes in the left navigation menu. From there, click Upload a theme in the upper- right corner of the screen. A window will appear.

Click the Browse button and navigate to the showtime. Once the file finishes uploading, the Show. Time theme will show up as an unpublished theme.

To activate it, click the Publish button. A new window will appear asking if you want to replace your current theme. Don't worry!  Your old theme will not be deleted, it will just be set as inactive.  Click the Publish button to continue. The theme is now installed and ready for use! If you do not have a Shopify store setup or you only have a free trial.

If you don't already have a Shopify store setup or are on a free trial, your best bet is to contact us after you've purchased your theme and we can setup a new account for you. The benefit of going this route is that there is no set time limit to your trial and you don't have to pay any monthly fees until you're ready to launch your store. Time theme fully supports it! What is it? Basically, it's an easy way for shop owners to translate the content of their store into other languages.  There is a new section in the Shopify dashboard where you can edit translations for a wide variety of text and HTML blocks throughout your store.  By simply entering text in various text boxes, you can make it much easier for international customers to navigate your store. How do I get to it? To access your language settings, click the Themes link in the left hand menu of your Shopify dashboard.  If Show.

Time is enabled, click the button with the three dots in the upper- right corner of your screen and choose Edit language (see screenshot to the right). You will then be presented with a user- friendly interface to edit your language settings.  The theme has built in support for English and French languages.  You can add more languages if you'd like, but this functionality is beyond the scope of the this documentation.  Keep an eye on the Shopify documentation for an article on how to do this. Editing the Settings. Editing the settings is as straightforward as typing into each of the textboxes.  There are tabs at the top of the screen that allow you to access translations for different areas of your store. Integration with Show. Time Theme. The majority of the translations in this area won't require any editing on your part.  However, you can use this area to setup custom titles for various sections of your site.  We use this area mainly for titling sidebar widgets, product tabs, and some section headings throughout the site.  If you're expecting to find title settings for a particular area, this is a good place to look.  We've provided notes in the other sections of this documentation when you'll need to make changes in this area. Theme Settings & Presets.

Once you’ve finished installing the theme, it’s time to start customizing. To access the Theme Settings, simply click the Themes link in the left- hand navigation in your Shopify dashboard, then click the Customize theme button in the upper right- hand corner. Theme Presets. When you first access your theme settings, you might notice Theme Presets on the left side of the page.  The Showtime theme comes with three distinct presets .  These presets are designed to help you get up and running with the theme quickly for various product lines.  The three presets are Cook. Time, Furnish. Time, and Fashion.

Time.  Click on those links to view demos of each. So what exactly do presets do?  They essentially fill in many of the theme settings for you to help you lay out your store similarly to how the demos are laid out.  The Furnish.

Time preset has a muted green and brown color scheme that looks great as a furniture store. The Fashion. Time preset has a pink color scheme with different font treatments.  It is designed to look great with fashion or clothing stores.  Of course, you can always choose all the options yourself, these are just there as examples of what you can do with the theme.  We worked hard to make sure the theme will work great for any product line! How to Apply Presets. To access the presets, you'll see them in the Theme Settings area on the right- hand side.  When you choose a preset, all the theme options will fill in for you automatically to match that particular preset.  Obviously, you'll still need to go in and customize them to match your particular store, but they provide a great start by filling in color combinations and other options. Global Settings. Global settings are options that will affect your entire site.

This seems like a good place to start customizing your theme. Let's explore these options. Animation. Note: In version 3.

Show. Time, this setting has moved to the Colors section. The Show. Time theme includes coding for CSS animations throughout the site. For example, some page elements slide or roll in, and other elements appear as you scroll down the page. Watch The Midnight Man Online Mic more. You can enable or disable these animation effects using this setting.  Animations can add some eye candy to your site at the expense of slightly longer load times.  You'll want to consider your site's demographic and decide if you wish to enable them. Shopify has tight integration with Mail. Chimp, which is an excellent service that allows you to create a mailing list and reach out to your customers. Mail. Chimp has multiple pricing tiers, including one that is free and still offers a lot of functionality. In various locations throughout the theme, you'll notice newsletter sign up forms.  If you wish to use this functionality, you must provide your form action URL.  This is a special URL that is custom to your Mail. Currency Options. The Show. Time theme has the ability to display a currency selector at the top of your page. You can select which currencies to display and this allows your customers to see your products' prices in their home currency.

The only downside to having so much free content online is that it’s almost impossible to find what you are looking for, much less keep it organized. Luckily for us, there’s a new streaming service that hopes to change all that, and it is called Select. TV. In the below article I will explain why at $3 a month (or $2.

TV preserves the positives of its predecessor while moving forward towards the future of entertainment. The first thing you need to realize about Select. TV doesn’t create their own content, but rather it organizes existing content strewn across the internet into one convenient, easy to use interface. Free vs. Premium Content. Content is generally split into two categories: free and premium content.

Want to only look at the free stuff? No worries! Want to see a mix of the two? You’re covered. As far as the the paid content goes, it’s going to be more or less what you’ve come to expect from internet. You can find and stream recent movies (like Batman vs. Superman) but, of course, you still have to pay for them. Free on Select. TVNow let’s talk about what kind of content you can expect from the free and paid sections of Select. TV; starting with my favorite section: the free one.

Searching for television and films is pretty simple with Select. TV. You can search for shows and movies based off of name, genre, etc… Shows are also divided up by network, making it a little bit easier to find what it is you want.

Surprisingly, the free movies can range from the very recent releases (such as My Weekend with Marilyn) to the older, more obscure, films (such as the “classic” American Ninja II). Some of the movies are available on- demand and others are available via movie channels, which can easily be found via the search bar or side panel.

On- demand Shows. Within the free section of Select. TV you get a huge selection of free television and movies from around the web. Television wise, you’ll be seeing a lot of on- demand network television shows. Usually you’ll have access to the most recent five shows, give or take a few, depending on the network. Live Streaming. Aside from the on- demand content, where the free section really shines, you also have the live- streaming category.

We’re talking dozens of different local broadcast stations from not only the United States but also internationally. While the idea of watching international broadcast television might not sound too engrossing; as someone who spent 3 hours watching a German baking shows while researching Select. TV, trust me when I say it’s a far more interesting prospect than it appears.

Select. TV vs Sling & PS Vue. Furthermore, it’s important to note that while services like Sling TV and Play. Station Vue offer live local channels, they have nowhere near the selection that Select. TV has and it is doubtful that they will ever catch up. You could argue that Sling TV and PS Vue have more quality content, but both those services also cost significantly more. It’s also worth mentioning that, by using the local channels available on Select.

TV, some of you sports fans will be able to get around some of the blackouts issues. That alone makes Select.

TV worth considering. Curated Channels. You also get access to certain featured channels that are more like curated You. Tube playlists than actual television channels; and they can range from the educational to the niche hobby topics (there’s a Learn Magic channel and it is amazing). Price Shopping. One more thing that makes Select. TV special is that, unlike renting a movie through from a single streaming service, you can compare prices among all of the major video streaming providers before you make your decision. Superman, for example, I can rent the film from i. Tunes for $1. 4. 9. OR I can save $5 and get the movie from the Amazon for $9. A penny saved is a penny earned and an informed consumer will always be a happier one. Cord Cutter’s TV Guide. Probably my favorite part about Select. TV is that you can turn this service into a centralized hub for all of your streaming services.

That means you don’t have to switch between services; you can watch it all from one convenient source. Room for Improvement. Now that we’ve discussed all of the good things about Select.

TV, it’s time to talk about one not- so- great feature (or lack thereof). Select. TV does not offer a Roku App. They do however offer i.

OS and Android apps; and Select. TV is also accessible via a via web browser. Both the i. OS and Android App support streaming via Chrome. Cast, Air. Play, and other wireless means of connecting to a display (including Roku and Apple TV). So if you have an HDMI cord running from your Laptop to your TV, or if you have Chromecast or some other casting device – this is not such a big deal. But if you are solely relying on Roku and have no additional devices for casting video to your television, you may need to buy some additional hardware. Streaming on Multiple Screens.

No need for multiple accounts. One account allows you to log on via multiple devices, so this is really a non- issue.

Legally Obtained Content. Often on my Stream TV Scams page we discuss companies who are based in countries outside of US Law, and i urge my readers to be careful with their credit card numbers.

TV is free and can be found online, but that’s not the point.

The point is that Select. TV makes it feel like you’re watching television again.
